Board of Directors
A seven-member Board of Directors manages the Causeway
Foundation. Board members are all volunteers who are
committed to the support of direct-service community
mental health and other disability programs. The Board
is responsible for the building at 22 O’Meara Street
and it’s up keep and maintenance, as well as raising
funds through events and campaigns. There is expertise
in finance and investment, legal matters, fundraising,
management, mental illness, property maintenance and
construction on the Foundation Board.
Board President
Dianne Breton began volunteering as
a Work Centre Board member in 1994, becoming President
of the Board for a two-year term in 1999-2001. She
joined the Foundation Board in 2002 and became President
in 2003.
Vice-President and Secretary
Donna Campbell has
had extensive experience working as a Health Administrator
and Occupational Therapist. She brings both leadership
and community service experience to the Foundation Board.
Treasurer
Robert Petrie is a partner with Smith,
Petrie, Carr & Scott Insurance Brokers Ltd. and
joined the Board as Treasurer in 2006. Robert has experience
on not-for-profit boards and has an interest in assisting
community organizations..
Directors
Peter Woollings joined the
Board in 2003. As President of Warlyn
Construction Ltd., Peter brings construction and
building maintenance expertise to the Board table,
as well as a keen interest in the well being of Causeway.
Chair of Building Committee.
Bruce Hiney joined the Board in 2004.
A communications specialist, Bruce now retired, was a
founding partner of Banfield-Seguin Ltd. He is Chair
of the Public Relations Committee and acts as editor
of the Causeway Connection, the Foundation newsletter.
Len Leeks joined the Board in 2006
and acts as the Causeway Work Centre Board Representative.
He also continues to serve as the Work Centre Board President,
therefore providing an important link between the two
boards.
Don Palmer was the Causeway Work Centre’s
Executive Director from 1992-2008. Don joined
the Foundation Board at its inception in 1998, and continues
to provide guidance and experience in the field of mental
health and disabilities. Don also provides an important
link between the operating needs of the Work Centre’s
programs and the Foundation Board.
