Causeway Foundation Annual Friends Campaign
You are invited to become a Friend with
a 2008 donation of $35.00. You’ll make a difference in the
lives of people in our community with mental health problems and
other disabilities. One hundred per cent of funds raised in the
Annual Friends Campaign supports Causeway Work Centre.
Thank you
- Thank you to Jill Mutzeneek who
retired from the Foundation’s
Board at the Annual General Meeting in June. Jill’s many
years of volunteer service to Causeway, as President of the Work
Centre Board (1996-1998), and founding President of the Foundation
Board (1998-2002), was acknowledged at Causeway’s Awards
event in May with the presentation of the Eleanor
Meier Award for outstanding volunteer work for Causeway.
- Thank you to Leah Eustace who
has retired from the Board this year after four years of leadership
in the Foundation’s fundraising
initiatives. Leah’s professionalism and advice have benefited
the Foundation in many ways, notably in the establishment of our
Planned Giving and Legacy Programs as well as Causeway’s
Endowment Fund. We are pleased that Leah has agreed to remain
as an advisor to the Foundation.
- Thank you to Raquel Chisholm who
is leaving the Foundation after a year as Board Secretary.
During the year, Raquel reviewed and revised the Board’s
Policies and Procedures.
New Board Member: Donna Campbell
Recently retired from the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group (ROHCG),
as Administrative Director, ROH General Psychiatry Program, Donna
has had extensive experience working as a Health Administrator
and Occupational Therapist. She brings both leadership and community
service experience to the Foundation Board. She served a full six-year
term on the Causeway Work Centre Board including a two-year Presidency.
As Past-President, Donna represented the Work Centre Board on the
Foundation Board. We are delighted that she has accepted our invitation
to work with us again as Vice-President of the Foundation Board.
The Denstedt-Williamson Client Award
The Denstedt-Williamson Client
Award has been created in honour of the late Margaret Denstedt-Williamson,
a long time client of Causeway Work Centre. The award is nominated
by staff members and awarded annually to a current client who has
demonstrated the ability to overcome barriers and challenges in
his or her life, reached beyond expectations, established new goals,
and worked with peers and Causeway staff to reach goals in the
past year. This year a Causeway client will receive her or his
award on May 22, 2008, the day of our Volunteer and Client Recognition
Event. If you would like to receive an invitation for the
event please call 613-725-3494 ext. 108 or send an e-mail
