New Board President: Donna Campbell
Donna has had extensive experience working as a Health Administrator
and Occupational Therapist. She brings both leadership and community
service experience to the Foundation Board. She served a full six-year
term on the Causeway Work Centre Board including a two-year Presidency.
As Past-President, Donna represented the Work Centre Board on the
Foundation Board. Donna joined the Foundation Board in September
2008. We are delighted that she has accepted the role as Board
President.
New Board Member: Claudia von Zweck
Claudia Von Zweck is the Executive Director of the Canadian
Association of Occupational Therapists. Claudia has published
papers on a broad range of topics relating to occupational therapy
practice, including the supply, distribution and education of occupational
therapists in Canada. Her educational background includes a Doctorate
in Rehabilitation Science and Master of Science in Community
Health and Epidemiology from Queen’s University and a Bachelor
of Science in occupational therapy from the University of Toronto.
She is very interested in working with Foundation, and we are
delighted that she has accepted our invitation to join the Foundation
Board as Board Secretary and Chair of Policy.
United Way: Community Builder Award
On Thursday, May 28, 2009 Causeway Work Centre was awarded
the United Way, Community Builder Award for People with Disabilities.
Board Members: Dianne Breton, Donna Campbell and many Causeway
staff were present to watch Executive Director, Don Palmer receive
the award on behalf of the Causeway Work Centre.
Retired Teachers of Ontario
The Causeway Foundation has received a wonderful grant in
the amount of $3,000 from The Retired Teachers of Ontario. One
hundred percent of the funds will go to support Causeway’s
newest social business, Cycle Salvation – where
bikes are reborn. THANK YOU!
2009 Holiday Card Campaign
The Holiday Card Campaign is now underway, and we are very excited
about this year’s campaign. If you are interested in volunteering your time to assist with this growing Campaign, please email Meaghan

The Causeway Key Achievements
2008-2009 Key Achievements have been created and we are very pleased to announce,
that Causeway has created more than 360 employment opportunities in the Ottawa

Pep Rally and Awards Event 2009
The 2009 Rally & Volunteer event was held on Tuesday,
May 12th. Highlights included the official unveiling of the Causeway
Donor Wall and the Annual Awards Presentations. Nominees and Award
Winners The 2009 Denstedt-Williamson Award was presented to Daryl
Massey, a long time client of Causeway. Other nominees included
Debra North, Mike Bigras and Randy Dupuis, who are involved in
Causeway’s employment program, Job Quest. All three were
honoured with a small gift and an award certificate. The value
of our volunteers was recognized with the presentation of the Causeway
Foundation Board Volunteer Award to Donna Campbell recognizing
her past service as Work Centre Board President, and returning
to become Vice President of the Foundation Board; Causeway Work
Centre Board Volunteer Award to long-time client and Board member
Roger Crosby; and Community Volunteer Awards presented to Judy
McLean for her assistance with the Holiday Card Campaign; Christopher
Smith of Collected Works Bookstore selling Holiday Cards since
the beginning of our annual Campaign; Ann Hiney for the donation
of a beautiful quilt to raffle and Bernie Forestell for assistance
with a direct mail letter.
Quilt Raffle 2009
Causeway Foundation received a donation of a beautiful handmade
quilt. The Quilt was raffled off at our Annual Pep Rally and Awards
Event, which was held on May 12, 2009. The Quilt Raffle raised
approximately $500 for Causeway’s newest Social Enterprise,
Cycle Salvation – where
bikes are reborn. Thank you to all
who participated in the raffle.
