Friday, May 20, 2011, Ottawa – Causeway announced today it has received a three-year funding commitment from United Way Ottawa in support of its strong supported employment and social enterprise programs.
Krackers Katering, a small catering business that employs people with mental illness and other disabilities, will receive $56, 732 per year and Supported Employment for Persons Living with a Disability in Rural Ottawa will receive $30,789 in annual funding. “This is the first time there was a competitive process and United Way’s funding commitment is a strong endorsement of the work we do at Causeway,” says Don Palmer, Executive Director of Causeway.
In addition, Causeway announced it has won United Way 2011 ‘Take Action’ award, which recognizes an individual or organization that best exemplifies a call-to-action in the community.
